The Essential 'Next'

Nobody reads, the words are lost, the ideals are gone. Where were they to begin with? Just one form of 'liberty' being transferred to another. Another version of liberty, another iteration of it. Each iteration being a shadowy reflection of the next. It's the essential 'next'. What will the 'next' freedom essentially be?

The local DMV has it right...'Driving is a privilege not a right...'. The unfortunate ones hear this often. Recalcitrant TSA's say it....but differently. 'You must give up some liberty to fly', you could add 'to drive, to work, to live'. Each iteration, each essential 'next' requiring the passage of some legislation. The insidious maniacal chuckle after the statement, 'It's for your own good. It's your essential next'.

Porn scanners at every airport. Strip you down, rob you, take you, dehumanize you. There's human evil behind every machine, behind every bolt, every cog. "How do you destroy a nation? Pay one half of the population to kill the other half." The soul of the TSA, the soul of the DMV, the soul of Homeland. The essential next.

Interstate checkpoints. The inevitable next. "Why are you here? What is the purpose of your visit? Where are you coming from? How long do you plan to visit?" The questions, the strip-searches, full-cavity. The crimes justified in the context of security, much different than safety. Invasive and peering you are monitored from one day to the next. When you are born, when you eat, when you die. A catalog of information, a digital profile, tucked away in the bowels of a computer until...you object. You terrorist. The essential next.

So we wait, and watch for the next iteration.

  1. In 1996 Oldsmobile experimented on the public with the first production of automobiles equipped with the optional air bags. Guess what was missing? Seat belts. There were no seat belts installed from the factory on air bag equipped Olds 98 and Toro's. Now we have laws for seat belt use regardless of personal preference. What if it could be a personal choice? I wonder, if Jesus would have used a seat belt or invented the air bag, or perhaps have implemented the interior foam explosion idea from "Demolition Man"?
Does anyone care that seat belts strangle people? What we do know is it can be a money generator for law enforcement agencies, and from time to time, when local funds are low we face the onslaught of click it or ticket. Could I just have the optional "offering " envelope, I mean a $20 donation makes more sense than a seat belt law. Perhaps we could get them in multiple quantities for a discount, or use the stub for a raffle or give away promotional on fewer citizen rights. Or, we could just give up and dust off the Conestoga.

  2. Tyranny always comes cloaked in the form of promised safety. This is the statist general means of control. Liberty is always confiscated from the citizenry through the statist propaganda machine of promised goods Safety. The effect of the statist propaganda machine serves as a sleep sedative to lure the citizenry into a false sense of sleep to rob its people of its liberty. How is this done? Through a false sense of safety under the statist patriotic propaganda campaign call of its citizenry for the common good. This is how all our liberties have been lost, by the statist means of pulling on the citizenry's patriotic love of its country. Vice President Joe Biden said that its our patriotic duty to pay tax's. In other words, if you are a GOOD American and LOVE this country you will pay your fare share. This is how Hitler came to power, by preaching Patriotism and Nationalism. But this can only work, only when you Love what they the statist are trying to destroy. The goal of the statist propaganda machine is to make you feel good, like a Good and Patriotic American for believeing and buy into their false sense of liberty and freedom. Its not the idea of Homeland security that is rejected by most Americans, the problem is, at what cost. Here is the rule to measure the statist promise of true safety. If the promised safety ends only to robs you or takes away your civil liberties, then no Safety were ever given, but only the lost of your liberties without the promised Safety. What do I mean by liberty? LIBERTY is the ability to come and go freely without statist hindrance and or restrictions and without the citizenry's civil liberties and or RIGHTS being violated. Since 9/11 more of our liberties have been lost then ever our safety gained. Because of this the true enemy has won. Now the statist powers which be treats its own citizenry as the enemy. The promised safety of the statist has only resulted in the lost of its citizenry's liberties and Freedoms, without the promised safety of this once great nation. We the the people of these United States Of America, and its citizenry no longer feel safe or free, but rather are in grave danger of its own statist government. Carl
